CRESTWOOD, IL—The sparks will fly Friday, July 3, at Ozinga Field, home of the Windy City ThunderBolts in Crestwood. Gather at the ballpark for a family flick and a spectacular fireworks show at dusk brought to area residents by the Village of Crestwood and the Crestwood Recreation Department.
Gates open at 6 p.m., followed by the 2024 family sci-fi flick, “The Wild Robot” that will be beamed on the ThunderBolts’ video board at 7 p.m. After the film, there will be an awesome fireworks show, so get those ooohs and ahhs ready. “Sparks In The Park” is FREE.
Fans are welcome to walk onto the stadium’s synthetic turf field, spread a blanket and enjoy a picnic in the park.
We suggest checking the Windy City ThunderBolts Facebook page for updates on cancellations in case it rains.
Outside food and drink are allowed in the ballpark for the event. Fans are asked to help keep the ballpark clean by picking up food and litter and throwing it away, even spilled popcorn. Lawn chairs are allowed on the field, but chairs must have flat rubber bottoms so as not to pierce the turf. This will be strictly enforced. No peanuts or seed products are allowed inside the stadium.
Ozinga Field is located at 14011 Kenton Ave, Crestwood. For more information, call the Village of Crestwood at 708-371-4800.
