ALSIP, IL —Celebrate with family, friends and neighbors for National Night Out, Tuesday, Aug. 4. The event kicks off from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Alsip Police Department, 4500 W. 123rd St.
Join your first responders and partner organizations for the free, take-a-bite-out-of-crime event promoting public safety awareness.
Alsip's police and fire departments have a whole slew of family friendly events planned, including School of Rock that teaches kids how to become rock stars, games, eats, entertainment and more.
There will be trucks to touch and a dunk tank, where you'll have a chance to dunk a cop, station tours and demos. The safety train may or may not be available.
Since the first National Night Out in 1984, more than 38 million neighbors in 17,000 communities throughout the nation will hold some type of event promoting community building and public safety. It's a night to build police-community partnerships and strengthen neighborhood spirit.
