The South Side native and former Chicago detective, prosecutor, and Cook County Sheriff's official is remembered as a devoted family man, veteran, and community mentor.
4. 11-Year-Old Mows Lawns to Buy Headstone for Father Buried in Unmarked Grave (hypefresh.com) — Alsip readers may recognize Burr Oak Cemetery as the place where an 11-year-old North Dakota boy finally placed a headstone on his biological father's previously unmarked grave.
