ALSIP, IL—Alsip Village Tr. Jen Cahill, along with the Alsip Fire Department and the Alsip Chapter of Project Fire Buddies, are hosting a community blood drive Friday, Oct. 23.
The Community Blood Center mobile blood unit will be parked at Alsip Fire Station #2, 11946 S. Laramie, waiting for eager donors to roll up their sleeves from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Community members interested in making a whole blood donation are encouraged to schedule an appointment on the blood center's portal, all cued up so you don't have to look for it, or call 1-800-280-4102. Walk-ins will be accepted, pending availability.
After your blood donation, stick around for a pancake breakfast for $5 and buy some Project Fire Buddy schwag. All proceeds will go to the Alsip chapter, which provides support to families with children diagnosed with serious illnesses in the Alsip community.
Blood donations will help replenish blood banks after the summer when donations typically decline and shore up for the holidays.
For further questions, contact community blood drive coordinator Tricia Voskuil, at tvoskuil@communityblood.org.
