Art, Music and Wine Featured At Crestwood Fine Arts Fair

Shop, enjoy music, and wine and cheese at the Crestwood Arts Council's Fine Arts Fair this Sunday, Nov. 11.

CRESTWOOD, IL -- The Crestwood Arts Council is hosting its third Fine Arts Festival on Nov. 11. The fine arts fair runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Crestwood Recreation Center, 5331 W. 135th St. Artists working in the mediums of painting, drawing, jewelry, sculpture, photography and more will be featured. Admission to the fine arts fair is FREE.

Art Ala Carte from Orland Park will be returning and providing kids and adults a small canvas to paint for $3. Food trucks will also be parked outside the Crestwood Recreation Center, featuring Joey’s Red Hots and Lucky Burrito. Crestwood's Starbucks will supply hot chocolate and coffee while supplies last. In addition, there will be a wine and cheese sampler donated by At the Office, Thirsty Beaver and Walmart. Save room for Nonna’s Pizza cannoli.

Local artists will be sharing their talents amongst art lovers shopping for holidays or their own enjoyment. Featured art works include handmade functional and decorative stoneware by Linda Bravo, and a variety of oils from John Howard, a well-known artist and teacher. Most artists are locally grown in Crestwood, Jen Glaz, Shepard High School art teacher, has many talents, including photography. Becky Clemmons, originally from Beverly, will showcase some beautiful metal and stone crafted jewelry.

To sweeten the pot, Mayor Lou Presta, trustees and staff will be handing out property tax rebate checks to residents and businesses (with ID). Checks not picked up will be mailed.

Mayor Presta will also announce the winner of the 2019 Village Vehicle Sticker Contest. Last year's winner was former Incarnation student, Nora Cunnea. The winner will be awarded $200 from Friends of Lou.

Musicians from all musical genres will perform during the fair. Half-hour slots are still available. Some tables are also open for artists that wish to sell works for a $30 fee. Applications for participating artists are available at Crestwood Village Hall from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the week.
