Back To School: Alsip-Crestwood 2021-22 School Calendar

ALSIP-CRESTWOOD, IL — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Alsip and Crestwood, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in elementary school districts 125, 126 and 130, and high school district 218.

The first day of school for K-8 students in Cook County Dist. 130 is Aug. 19. Atwood Heights Dist. 125 welcomes back K-8 students on Aug. 25, with Alsip-Hazelgreen-Oak Lawn Dist. 126 starting on Aug. 23 for K-8 students.

Shepard High School and Eisenhower High School students return on Aug. 17, with freshman returning Aug. 13 and Aug. 16.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in the Alsip and Crestwood communities.

Masking policies are still being discussed in Alsip and Crestwood school districts. The Illinois Federation of Teachers and Cook County Department of Public Health announced last week its endorsement of guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Illinois Department of Public Health calling for universal masking in schools, regardless of vaccination status.
