Blue Island Man Charged In Dan Ryan Road Rage Shooting
The 18-year-old was identified as the driver who fired a shot at another vehicle on I-94 near 95th Street, Illinois State Police said.

BLUE ISLAND, IL — A Blue Island man is accused of shooting at another vehicle on the Dan Ryan Expressway stemming from a road rage incident. Gabriel Lopez, 18, is charged with discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon, both felonies.
Around 12:50 a.m. April 7, Illinois State Police were dispatched to a report of shots fired from the southbound lane on I-94, at 95th Street. A motorist claimed to have been shot at by the driver of a gray Jeep during a road rage incident, police said. The motorist was not injured in the shooting.
The Jeep was identified and located in Chicago. ISP identified Lopez as the suspect and his residence searched, ISP said. Lopez turned himself into state police on April 12. The Cook County State’s Attorney approved felony charges. Bail was set at $100,000, with 10 percent to apply.
