Crestwood's New 60418 ZIP Code Takes Effect July 1

CRESTWOOD, IL -- Crestwood’s new ZIP Code -- 60418 -- takes effect today, July 1. The U.S. Postal Service encourages residents and businesses to start using the new ZIP Code right away.

For decades, Crestwood has shared digits with neighboring Midlothian. After two attempts by USPS to garner support from at least 51 percent of Crestwood residents, the village awarded its own ZIP Code in May.
Residents and businesses should also inform those they correspond with of the ZIP Code change. USPS will ensure delivery of mail utilizing the village’s former ZIP Code for up to one year.

The new ZIP Code could mean lower car insurance rates for Crestwood residents, since the town will no longer be rolled into Midlothian’s postal district. Mayor Lou Presta said the new ZIP Code also protects Crestwood residents and business from accidentally paying fees applied to Midlothian residents due to ZIP Code sharing, such as cable TV, Internet and cellular phone services.
