Free Gun Locks To Be Distributed Saturday At Alsip Police Department

Sen. Bill Cunningham and Rep. Fran Hurley are hosting a free gun lock giveaway Saturday, Oct. 15, to promote gun safety and awareness.

ALSIP, IL — Sen. Bill Cunningham (Dist. 18) and Rep. Fran Hurley (35th District) will are hosting a free gun lock giveaway to promote awareness of gun safety Saturday, Oct. 11. Distribution will take place from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Alsip Police Department, 4500 W. 123rd St.

Gun locks can prevent or reduce accidental shootings, suicides and deaths, especially in homes where young children and teens are present. Even with the locks, gun owners should still should take precautions. Lock it up and put it in a place where children and teens can’t get access to it.

The free gun locks will be distributed while supplies last. Refreshments will be provided.
