Free Property Tax Appeals Workshop Offered At Worth Township Center

Cook County Board of Review analysts will be on hand Monday, Jan. 29, to assist property owners in appealing their property valuation.

ALSIP, IL — Worth Township Center will be the site of a free workshop where residents can learn how to appeal their property taxes hosted by the Cook County Board of Review. The workshop will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, in the town center gym, 11601 S. Pulaski Road, Alsip.

Analysts will be on hand to assist property owners with their appeals and answer any questions. Have your second installment property tax bill or PIN at hand. (To find your property's PIN, visit the Cook County Treasurer portal and enter your address.)

An appeal to the Board of Review is property owners’ best opportunity to challenge their new assessed value. The deadline to file an appeal is Feb. 6.

Worth Town Assessor Shaun Murphy’s office can also assist property owners in filing an appeal or obtaining information for an appeal, on a first come, first served basis. A record number of appeals are anticipated and requests for assistance after Jan. 31 are not guaranteed, so please contact town assessor prior to that date.
