Hallelujah! The Cal-Sag Bridge Has Reopened In Crestwood
After being closed for two months, the Cal-Sag bridge on Cicero Avenue has reopened in Crestwood.

CRESTWOOD, IL -- The Cal-Sag Bridge that was closed for two months while it underwent repairs has reopened as of Dec. 12. The bridge was closed starting in October on Cicero Avenue between 127th and 135th streets in Crestwood. It was scheduled to reopen in mid-December. Motorists have been dodging detours by taking alternate routes.
The scope of the project consisted of structural steel repairs on the bridge that carried Illinois 50/83 over the Cal Sag Channel. According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, the repairs will improve safety and extend the lifespan of the bridge.
