IDOT Announces Road Closure For CSX Track Repairs In Blue Island

IDOT announces full closure of 127th Street and CSX tracks starting July 9.

BLUE ISLAND, IL -- More CSX track repairs are on the way. A full road closure will take place on 127th Street at the CSX railroad tracks in Blue Island, beginning, weather permitting, Monday, July 9. The closure is necessary to perform repairs to the railroad crossing, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, 127th Street will be closed at the railroad tracks between Western Avenue and Kedzie Avenue. A posted detour will direct eastbound 127th Street traffic to go north on Kedzie Avenue, east on 119th Street and south on Western Avenue to meet back with 127th Street. Westbound 127th Street traffic will take the reverse route.

The crossing repairs are scheduled to be completed by 3 p.m. Friday, July 20.
