State House District 27 Democratic Primary: Slaughter Hangs On
Justin Slaughter defeated Tawana Robinson for the Democratic nomination for the Illinois State House in the 27th District.

ILLINOIS STATE HOUSE DISTRICT 27 - Two candidates are seeking the Democratic nomination in the Illinois State House of Representatives 27th District primary election. Tawana Robinson is challenging incumbent Justin Slaughter for the post. With nearly 55 percent of the vote and all but two of the 115 precincts reporting as of noon on Wednesday, Slaughter is the projected winner of the race.
Slaughter has served as the representative in this district since 2017. Robinson outlined her campaign platform on her campaign website.
No Republican candidates have filed for this election.

The Illinois State House 27th District includes parts of the South Side of Chicago and nearby south suburbs. Much of Alsip, as well as parts of Crestwood, Blue Island, Orland Park and Palos Heights, are included in the district.
