Although teachers in District 218 have only worked with iPads since August, change flows.
This powerful instructional tool, which all freshmen received in August, has transformed classroom experiences. Next fall all students will receive an iPad to keep (as long as they're enrolled in D218; they will return them at the end of each school year.)
English teacher Dana Heslin arrived at Eisenhower High School this year after teaching in another district.

"Prior to this school year, I have not had the opportunity to implement or utilize the iPad for instruction. The iPad has allowed for smooth instruction, especially when it comes to assignments and students’ access to resources," she said.
Some may wonder about the district's decision to invest in this resource. Ms. Heslin is clear on the topic.

"We are living in a world where technology use is only increasing and becoming more and more mandatory, and if you cannot perform using an iPad, then you will have great difficulty getting through college, obtaining a meaningful career, and mastering responsibility," she said.
