ALSIP, IL -- Alsip police released images from surveillance cameras at a gas station where two unlocked vehicles were stolen earlier this week, including one woman who had been refueling. Police believe the same pair of suspects are responsible for both thefts.

On June 17, a woman was fueling her 2019 Jeep at the Pilot Travel Center in the 12600 block of South Kedzie Avenue. Security cameras captured a Ford pulling into the lot. One man in blue gets out and starts walking toward the Jeep but returns to the Ford. A second man in a white shirt emerges and approaches the Jeep. Police said the suspect entered the open car door while the woman was at the pump. The car was running and the keys were in the ignition. As the woman tried to open the door as the men fled, police said she was dragged across the lot.

Alsip police are warning drivers to be aware of their surroundings at gas stations. Turn off the car off and remove the keys from the ignition when pumping gas. Put the phone down too.
