Predicted Snowfall Triggers Alsip-Crestwood Snow Parking Rules
With a winter storm advisory in effect, Alsip-Crestwood residents are reminded of their town's snow parking rules.
ALSIP-CRESTWOOD, IL — A one-two punch of the season’s first significant snowfall will most likely mean that Alsip and Crestwood's snow parking rules will go into effect along designated snow routes. A winter weather advisory from 8 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Snow is expected to start late Monday evening and continue through Tuesday morning. A second round of snow is predicted for Tuesday afternoon. The National Weather Service has estimated snowfall totals of between 2 and 5 inches to fall on the Chicago area.

The Village of Alsip is asking residents to remove their vehicles from the streets, if they haven’t done so already. Residents are required to move their cars off the street after one-inch of snowfall until snow removal is completed.
Plow drivers in Alsip have no problem plowing in cars that are illegally parked. Such vehicles also risk being ticketed and towed. In addition to not parking on Crestwood streets after two inches of snowfall, vehicles are prohibited from parking for longer than three minutes to pick up or drop off passengers, or 30 minutes to unload groceries or other property. The rules apply when snow begins to fall for a period of up to eight hours after the snow stops falling, to allow for snow removal.
