Pursuit Of Stolen Car Ends In Crash In Alsip, Gun Found: Police

Chicago police and Illinois State Police chased the vehicle originally thought to be involved in a shooting into Alsip, police said.

ALSIP, IL — The pursuit of a stolen car from Chicago ended in a crash Wednesday afternoon in Alsip, police said.

Around 4 p.m., Chicago police and Illinois State Police were chasing a vehicle believed to be involved in a Chicago shooting, Alsip police said in a statement on Facebook.

The vehicle crashed at 115th Street and Pulaski in Alsip. The people in the vehicle fled on foot and were apprehended, police said.

Chicago police said the stolen vehicle was recovered, along a weapon which was recovered in the vehicle. Police are currently questioning people of interest.

It turned out not to be related to a shooting in the 4400 block of Jackson Blvd., according to CPD News Affairs
