State Rep. Fran Hurley Gives Library Bicentennial Gift
Alsip Library receives an official Illinois Bicentennial flag

The Alsip-Merrionette Park Public Library District Board of Trustees was recently happy to welcome Illinois State Representative Fran Hurley and accept an official Illinois Bicentennial flag on behalf of the community.
The Alsip community is planning a celebration of our state's 200th birthday later this summer, August 26th from 1 - 5 pm, behind Prairie Jr. High School, located at 11960 South Kostner Avenue.

The Jesse White Tumblers, sidewalk chalk competition, bicycle parade, historical military reenactments, and live musical performances are just some the events, and refreshments will also be offered.
