
Just before the start of school on March 1, staff members from Eisenhower High School gathered in the LRC to make a statement.
They didn't say a word and, really, didn't need to. Their clothing said everything.
With their flowing Superman capes, Batman T-shirts, and even a full Wonder Woman costume, Eisenhower staff members embodied 'Respect Day.'

"Respect Day promotes treating people with disabilities with the respect they deserve. The theme is 'Respect is my Superpower,'" said Assistant Principal Tim Baker.
Other teachers wore red shirts with the word 'Respect' blazed across the front and the phrase 'Respect is my superpower' on the back.

Students also participated. They signed pledges during lunch periods promising to treat people with special needs with respect.
