CRESTWOOD, IL — Come hang out with Santa and meet the new manager of the 2023 Windy City ThunderBolts at the team’s annual holiday open house Saturday, Dec. 17. The open house runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ozinga Field, 14011 South Kenton Ave. Crestwood. This festive event is FREE.

The stadium and clubhouse will open at 10 a.m. Enter through the clubhouse door on the ground level west of the stadium. Santa, Mrs. Claus and Boomer will be at the ballpark from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There is no cost to see Santa and Boomer but BYOC (bring your own camera):

  • New field manager, MLB All-Star slugger Richie Sexson will be at the event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. meeting any attending guests. Bring items for autographs, take pictures and ask him what it was like to be one of the tallest players in the Major Leagues.
  • Complimentary holiday treats, refreshments, hot and cold drinks.
  • The playing field will be open to play catch (baseball, football, frisbee, etc). Christmas tunes will be playing through the sound system as well.

The open house will be held inside the ThunderBolts’ home clubhouse. See a “behind-the-scenes” part of the ballpark. Take a look around at where your Bolts prepare for their games.
