1 Dead Following Highway Crash Near Schaumburg: IL State Police
Several lanes of traffic remain closed following the four-car crash Tuesday afternoon.
SCHAUMBURG, IL — A person was killed following a four-car crash on Illinois Route 53 Tuesday afternoon. Illinois State Police tell Patch the crash occurred at around 1:40 p.m. in the northbound lanes of IL-53, just south of Higgins Road in Schaumburg.
The deceased was pronounced dead at the scene.
ISP said two lanes of traffic remain closed for an investigation. Elk Grove Village police sent out a media alert regarding the crash, asking motorists to avoid the area.
