10 Arlington Heights Runners Finish the Boston Marathon
Lena Josifi earned the best time among village marathoners in Monday's race.

Ten runners from Arlington Heights competed in and completed Monday's running of the Boston Marathon.
Lena Josifi, who was born in Albania but lives in the village, earned the best time among the local runners, finishing the race with a net time of 3 hours, 3 minutes and 33 seconds, according to the marathon's unofficial results.

The top three finishers were Ethiopians. Lemi Berhanu Hayle won the Men’s Marathon, besting defending champ Lelisa Desisa at 2:12:45, very modest for a Boston-winning time. Adhane Tsegay clocked in at 2:14:02.
For the first time since 1986, a Massachusetts native finished in the men's top 10. Zachary Hines, a South Hadley native who lives in Dallas, finished 10th with a time of 2:21:37.
