10 Pounds Of Meth Found In Trunk Of Mount Prospect Woman's Car: Police

YORK, NE — A Mount Prospect woman was recently arrested in Nebraska after a state trooper found 10 pounds of suspected methamphetamine in the trunk of her car, according to police.

Monica Morales, 31, was stopped by the trooper about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at a rest area off eastbound Interstate 80 near the city of York, police said. The trooper smelled marijuana and searched her Hyundai Accent, finding a small amount of the drug, as well as a much larger amount of suspected methamphetamine in a suitcase, and a handgun, according to police.

Morales faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to deliver, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm during a drug violation, and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, police said. She was booked into York County jail, according to police.
