2 Shot During Sports Bar Fight In Rolling Meadows: Police

A Des Plaines man is in critical condition from the late Monday night incident. A shooter is in custody.

ROLLING MEADOWS, IL — A fight at a local sports bar led to two people being shot late Monday night in Rolling Meadows. The incident happened at around 11:40 p.m. at Stadium Sports Club, 4000 block of Algonquin Road, according to police.

A 33-year-old resident of Forest Park is currently in police custody. He sustained an injury to his hand during the altercation and subsequent shooting. Police said he fired a gun that struck a 38-year-old man from Des Plaines in the abdomen. The victim is in critical condition and is being treated at Lutheran General Hospital.

A second victim, a 26-year-old man from Elgin, was struck in the leg by a bullet during this incident. He was treated and has since been released from the hospital.

Police responded to the location following reports of shots being fired in the bar area. Upon arrival, police were able to locate three men who had received apparent gunshot wounds. The shooting stemmed from a physical altercation between patrons.

This incident is still under investigation.
