4 Kids Remain Hospitalized Following Rollover Crash on Interstate 90
Police said they sustained serious to life-threatening injuries in a Sunday crash near Hoffman Estates that injured seven kids and an adult.
HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL — Four children remain hospitalized with serious to life-threatening injuries following an early Sunday morning accident on Interstate 90 near Hoffman Estates. In all, seven children were taken to the hospital, along with one adult driver.
According to Illinois State Police, a blue 2003 GMC Yukon was traveling in the left lane of the eastbound side of I-90 near milepost 61 when the 12:25 a.m. accident occurred. The motor vehicle veered onto the left should and struck the center median wall. The vehicle then swerved across all lanes and crashed into the right ditch, coming to rest on its rooftop.
Police said that at approximately 12:30 a.m., the two right lanes of Interstate 90 eastbound near Milepost 61 were closed for the investigation; all lanes were reopened at approximately 4:26 a.m.
