6th Annual 'Step It Up for Clearbrook' 5K Returns To Arlington Heights

Proceeds from Saturday's event will benefit the non-profit for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Headquartered on West Central Road, Clearbrook is the largest non-profit organization in the state for people with intellectual developmental disabilities. On Saturday, Clearbrook will "celebrate the spirit of community" with its 6th annual Step It Up For Clearbrook 5K at Cronin Park.

The event is appropriate for all ages and abilities and begins with a Kids Dash for children 8 and under, followed by the 5K run and 1-mile walk/roll. The schedule begins at 8 a.m. Officials said more than 700 runners are registered and over 100 Clearbrook individuals and staffers will also participate.

According to its website, Clearbrook empowers adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities "to live their fullest lives possible." With a staff of more than 900 employees and 80 locations across Chicagoland, Clearbrook reports that 90 percent of every dollar raised goes directly into its programs and services.

The cost for Saturday's race is $25 for adults and $10 for kids 10 and younger, with the price including a race shirt. Tickets available at https://www.clearbrook.org/
