ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A 59-year-old man wanted in McLean County on grooming charges was arrested this week in Arlington Heights, according to authorities.
Investigators said Juan Adame was wanted on allegations involving the solicitation of sexually explicit pictures from a minor.
Police said a McLean County arrest warrant was issued for Adame on April 1. During the investigation, officers learned he was staying at an apartment complex in the 800 block of East Miner Street in Arlington Heights.
Authorities said members of the Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the U.S. Marshal’s Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force conducted surveillance at the location on May 20. Around 5:10 a.m., officers spotted a man matching Adame’s description leaving the complex, approached him and confirmed his identity before taking him into custody.
Adame was ordered held in Cook County Jail custody on May 21.
Authorities reminded the public that criminal charges are only accusations and defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
