HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL — Hoffman Estates police issued 117 citations and made four arrests during a monthlong traffic-safety campaign focused on speeding.
The July enforcement effort reminded motorists to slow down and was part of a broader statewide initiative involving local and state law enforcement agencies.
Police said the campaign was intended to reduce crashes and traffic fatalities. The department did not provide a breakdown of the citations or details about the arrests.
The enforcement was funded through federal traffic-safety money administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
