ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Residents will have an opportunity to receive free kidney health screenings later this month when the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois brings its KidneyMobile to the village.
The Village of Arlington Heights Health & Human Services Department is partnering with the foundation for the event, scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 2020 S. Goebbert Road.
The KidneyMobile provides kidney health screenings and educational information intended to help identify risk factors for kidney disease.
According to the National Kidney Foundation, 1 in 3 American adults is at risk for kidney disease, often without knowing it.
Early detection can help prevent or delay serious kidney-related health problems.
Community members are encouraged to reserve a screening appointment in advance through the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois' online registration system.
