ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL — Both directions of Arlington Heights Road are temporarily closed between Biesterfield Road and Brandywine Avenue following what Elk Grove Village police describe Friday morning as a serious crash.
Police are asking motorists to avoid the area while emergency crews respond in a social media post sent out at 11 a.m.
As of late Friday morning, authorities had not released additional details about the number of vehicles involved, whether anyone was injured or how long the closure was expected to remain in place.
The village also uses the Northwest Central Dispatch System for emergency response and public-safety alerts, including road closures and other time-sensitive incidents.
