Landscape Waste Deadline Extended in Arlington Heights

The landscape waste pick up dates will be on Dec. 7 and Dec. 8.

Submission by the village of Arlington Heights

Due to late-falling leaves and a recent snowfall, the Yardwaste collection for the Village has been extended by Groot to Monday, December 7 for residents living north of Oakton and to Tuesday, December 8, for residents living south of Oakton.

The final yardwaste collection by Groot, the Village’s contracted waste hauler, will be held during the first two weeks of January when the pickup of Christmas trees and late-falling leaves is regularly scheduled. Christmas trees will be collected throughout the Village on regularly scheduled landscape collection days from January 4 through January 12.

For the final landscape and Christmas tree collection, residents are reminded that landscape stickers are not required for Christmas tree pick-up. Also, please make sure that the tree is not placed in a plastic bag. Garlands and wreaths do not require landscape waste stickers and should be disposed of as refuse on your regular scheduled refuse collection days.

Bags of late-falling leaves and branch bundles can be placed at the curb with Christmas trees. Stickers are required on all bags and bundles, except participants in the Landscape Waste Subscription Program who may place up to ten bags or bundles without stickers.
