Annual Walk & Run for Wishes Moves to Elk Grove Village

Join Make-A-Wish Illinois at the annual Walk & Run for Wishes on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Busse Woods in Elk Grove Village for a whimsical morning to help wishes come true for Illinois children with life-threatening medical conditions. Welcoming individuals, family and corporate teams and wish children and their families, the Chicagoland Walk & Run for Wishes is the largest yearly gathering of Wish Alumni in Illinois.

This costumed family walk and 5K run celebrates the imaginative spirit of wish children while raising funds important to granting wishes for the hundreds of children diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition each year in Illinois. The festivities begin at 8 a.m. with food, refreshments, children’s activities, music and entertainment. Registration is $30 for adults, $10 for children ages 2 to 12 and free for children under two as well as wish children and their immediate family members. Wishes can be a turning point in a child’s battle against illness and help children feel stronger, more energetic and more willing and able to comply with treatment protocols. Additionally, wishes empower children to take control over an aspect of their lives while helping them feel less isolated and more self-confident.
