There was, however, a concern from Trustees about Dolce being located near Pompeii Ristorante and Alegria Pizzeria l because of the similar menu offerings. Dolce has no plans to offer Pizza, Pollari said.

The village staff development committee said given the difference in the menu selection, the population in the general vicinity and the high volume of traffic that passes by the site and the market area on a daily basis, the location is appropriate for the restaurant.

The owner of the shopping center said Dolce does not violate any "non-compete" clause within the lease agreements of other tenants in the shopping center.

Mayor Arlene Mulder thanked the petitioners for bringing some good authentic Italian food to Arlington Heights.

Dolce Bakery and Cafe will be a carryout and sit-down establishment, with a capacity of 16 seats. Dolce will have a total of five employees and will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
