Arlington Heights Author Named Finalist In Carol Awards

A.J. Cattapan's debut novel is up for its third award, having won two aready. Angelhood has been called a "must read" for teens everywhere.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL – The novel Angelhood by Arlington Heights author A.J. Cattapan has just been named as one of three finalists in the young adult category of the Carol Awards. This prestigious competition held annually by the American Christian Fiction Writers honors the best in Christian fiction from around the country. Cattapan’s debut novel Angelhood has already won two other awards: a gold medal from the Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards and an honorable mention from Readers’ Favorite Book Awards. Angelhood has been compared to It’s a Wonderful Life as it tells the story of a teenaged guardian angel trying to earn her wings through saving the life of a young teen.

The winners of the Carol Awards will be announced at a gala dinner in Nashville on August 27. Cattapan’s second book, a middle grade mystery entitled Seven Riddles to Nowhere, is set to release a few days later. Cattapan has also been published previously in several Chicken Soup for the Soul books and in various children’s magazines, including Highlights and Hopscotch for Girls.
