Arlington Heights Library To Mark 100 Years With Birthday Party

The event will include trivia, live music, a magician, juggling, refreshments and a time capsule presentation.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — It's a celebration a century in the making as the Arlington Heights Memorial Library turns 100 this year. The community is invited to a birthday party next month at 500 N. Dunton Ave.

The fun is scheduled for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. April 19, with activities planned throughout the building. The centennial celebration will include entertainment, games and a first look at a new exhibit tied to the library's milestone.

According to the event announcement, the party will feature decades trivia, a scavenger hunt, live music from ButterBean, entertainment with El Mago the Magician, juggling by Jason Kollum and refreshments from Soha's Sweet Treats. The library also said the event will include the debut of a new storytime puppet.

A welcome and opening remarks are scheduled to begin on the first floor at 1:30 p.m. A time capsule presentation will also be part of that opening program.

The celebration will give visitors the first opportunity to view the library's new exhibit, "A Century of Stories."
