Arlington Heights Runners Conquer Chicago Marathon

In all, 216 local runners finished Sunday's 26.2-mile race.

CHICAGO — It may have been a long wait, but for the participants in the 43rd edition of the Chicago Marathon, it was worth it. Not run since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sunday's race was filled with local participants. There were 216 Arlington Heights runners that finished the marathon.

The marathon was won by Seifu Tura, of Ethiopia, and Ruth Chepngetich of Kenya, in 2 hours, 6 minutes, 12 seconds, and 2:22:31, respectively The wheelchair race was won by Daniel Romanchuk and Tatyana McFadden, both of the United States, in 1:29:07 and 1:48:57.
