Arlington Heights Student Joins Nebraska Cornhusker Marching Band
Part of Patch's ongoing College Credits series highlighting local student achievements during the 2026-27 school year.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Arlington Heights resident Delaney McCabe is part of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s 299-member Cornhusker Marching Band for the 2026 football season.
McCabe, a senior majoring in business and law, is a member of the color guard.
The band made its season debut Sept. 5 at Memorial Stadium with pregame and halftime performances during Nebraska’s home opener against Ohio.

This year's band includes students from nearly every region of the country, with 83 percent of members coming from Nebraska communities.
Twenty-four percent of the band's members are students in the Glenn Korff School of Music, while the rest represent about 65 other academic programs across the university.

Each student completed two auditions to earn a place in the band.
