Arlington Heights Woman Hit by Car While Walking Dog Has Died
Barbara Rose Leinonen died on Wednesday. A teen-age driver hit her near Pioneer Park.

Barbara Rose Leinonen, 58, who was struck by a car Monday morning near Pioneer Park while walking her dog, died at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital on Wednesday.
Police say a 16-year-old boy struck Leinonen as she walked her dog on Grove Street in Arlington Heights early Monday morning. The teen’s Volkswagen Golf GTI was westbound and the woman was crossing Grove Street from Kaspar Street at about 6:50 a.m., reports the Chicago Tribune.
The dog was not hurt. Citations have yet to be issued as the investigation is under way.

Leinonen was a physical therapist at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
