Armed Robbery Leads To School Lockdowns In Hoffman Estates: District
Police said they are continuing to investigate the Wednesday armed robbery in the 2300 block of Hassell Road.
HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL — An armed robbery nearby led to the soft lockdowns of two schools Wednesday in Hoffman Estates. According to Township High School District 211, the lockdowns at Hoffman Estates High School and Higgins Education Center have been lifted and "normal operations" have resumed at the two buildings.
Police said they are continuing to investigate the armed robbery in the 2300 block of Hassell Road. At around 10:51 a.m., a masked man took the victim's purse while displaying a handgun. He then fled the scene eastbound on foot, which resulted in a large police presence in the area. No arrests had been made as of Wednesday afternoon.
Anyone with information regarding the incidents is encouraged to contact Detective Marc Shaw at marc.shaw@vohe.org or call 847-781-2849.
