Armed Robbery Reported At Schaumburg Bank: Police
A shelter-in-place was in effect Wednesday for residents living in the immediate area of the bank for several hours, according to police.

SCHAUMBURG, IL — Police continue to investigate an armed robbery at a U.S. Bank location Wednesday afternoon that resulted in a shelter-in-place order for several hours. In a series of social media posts, police said the robbery occurred at around 11 a.m. and the order for residents living in the immediate area of the bank at 60 S. Meacham Road to shelter was lifted at 1:42 p.m.
Police were clearing the scene and said the bank will remain closed Wednesday night. Officials said a thorough search of the area has been completed and believe there is no threat to the public, though the suspect is still at-large.
The FBI describes the suspect as being Hispanic, in his early 20s, 6 feet tall and 200 pounds, wearing a work jacket, hoodie and a black mask. He was armed with a black handgun. They also said he had black hair in an "emo" style. They said he made verbal demands for money.

Police are asking citizens to call 911 immediately if they see anyone matching the description and to not approach him. The public can also report tips (even anonymously) at 312-421-6700 and tips.fbi.gov.
