Asian-Fusion Restaurant Chain to Open Arlington Heights Location

Shakou plans to occupy the storefront that was the former home of Armand's Pizzeria.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — An Asian fusion restaurant chain is planning to renovate and open a new location in the old location of Armand's Pizzeria, according to the Arlington Heights Post.

Shakou has been eyeing the storefront at 70 N. Vail Ave. since the pizza place moved from there to its new downtown spot at 101 W. Campbell St., the report stated. The chain, which has locations in Barrington, Park Ridge and two other suburbs, is shooting for a late-spring or early-summer opening in 2017, the report added.

But the storefront will need some changes before opening its doors as Shakou's fifth location in the area, the report stated. The 3,000-square-foot space will be renovated to conform with the chain's aesthetics, the report added.

Shakou will serve lunch and dinner when it opens, and its menu will offer sushi, as well as teriyaki and noodle dishes with an Asian-fusion touch, the Post reports.
