Baby, Mother Among Several 'Maced' During Fight: Palatine P.D.

A juvenile suspect was taken in for questioning following the Saturday evening incident, according to police.

PALATINE, IL — Police are continuing to investigate a Saturday night fight in which a mother and baby were among several people reportedly pepper-sprayed or maced. The pair were evaluated by paramedics, but not taken to the hospital, according to police.

Officials said a 24-year-old female was taken to Northwest Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and was released later that night.

Police responded to a fight-in-progress at around 9 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of East Rand Grove Lane. Upon arrival, officers learned an unidentified subject had used "pepper spray" or "mace" during a group altercation. A juvenile suspect was taken in for questioning following the Saturday evening incident, according to police, but later released without charges.
