Bank Robbery Suspect Identified: Elk Grove Village PD

A U.S. Bank location on W. Devon Avenue was robbed last week, with a suspect later apprehended by police following a tip by a citizen.

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL — A Dixmoor man has been charged in a federal court following a bank robbery last week at a U.S. Bank location. According to the Elk Grove Village Police Department, Aaron J. Gregory, 33, is accused of the crime that occurred on Oct. 30 at the bank, located at 1100 W. Devon Ave.

Police had responded to the bank at around 12:40 p.m. Thursday, with a subsequent search that included the use of a K9, coming up empty. Later in the day, a citizen saw some suspicious activity in the area involving the suspect while at a local business and called police. Police credit that call for Gregory's eventual arrest.

Gregory was taken into custody near Rohwling and Nerge roads. Police said he matched the description of the person involved as seen on video near the robbery. Gregory reportedly made statements to police regarding his involvement in the bank robbery.

Gregory was taken into custody of the FBI Friday morning for further investigation and charges, as the robbery occurred in a federally regulated bank.
