Bill Spicer, Long-Time Referee for Youth Sports, Dies of Cancer

Spicer died at the age of 59.

Bill Spicer, a suburban basketball referee who was extremely active in youth athletics in the Arlingont Heights area, has died at age 59 of a rare form of leukemia, according to the Daily Herald. 

Described by his family as someone who lived life to the fullest, Spicer officiated games for the Arlington Heights Athletic Association and served as the president of the association since 1999, according to the article.
