"Blazing Saddles" to Screen at Star Cinema Grill
The Blue Whiskey Cinema Series will present the 1974 Mel Brooks comedy, "Blazing Saddles," at the Star Cinema Grill on October 7.

The Blue Whiskey Cinema Series, a monthly program offered by the Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival, will present a one night only screening of the Oscar-nominated 1974 Mel Brooks classic comedy, Blazing Saddles. The film will be shown at the Star Cinema Grill (53 S. Evergreen Avenue) in Arlington Heights on Wednesday, October 7 at 7:30 p.m.
Often referred to as the ultimate Western spoof, Blazing Saddles follows crafty railroad worker Bart (Cleavon Little) as he becomes the first black sheriff of Rock Ridge, a frontier town about to be destroyed in order to make way for a new railroad. Initially, the people of Rock Ridge harbor a racial bias toward their new leader. However, they warm to him after realizing that Bart and his perpetually drunk gunfighter friend (Gene Wilder) are the only defense against a wave of thugs sent to rid the town of its population.
The Blue Whiskey Cinema Series hosts screenings at the Star Cinema Grill in Arlington Heights every first Wednesday of the month. The program is determined by the regular attendees as they vote each month for their preferred selections. For more information about the cinema series, visit www.bluewhiskeycinema.com.
