Boy, 14, Killed In Drive-By Shooting Near Elk Grove Township: Police
The Wednesday night incident happened on a residential street in the Blackhawk Estates mobile home community in Des Plaines.
UNINCORPORATED ELK GROVE TOWNSHIP, IL — A 14-year-old boy died Wednesday night following a drive-by shooting in the Des Plaines portion of unincorporated Elk Grove Township. The Cook County Sheriff's Office tells Patch the incident happened at around 7:15 p.m. in the 400 block of West Touhy Avenue, in the Blackhawk Estates mobile home community.
Erick Alfaro, who lived in Blackhawk Estates, was pronounced dead at 7:48 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
Police said Alfaro was walking with another juvenile on a residential street near his home when a dark-colored SUV approached the pair. Multiple shots were fired from the vehicle, striking the victim.

Blackhawk Estates is located about nine miles northwest of O'Hare International Airport.
Shereen Mohammad, of the CCSO, said an investigation is ongoing.
