Children's Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County
About Us
When a child experiences trauma as a victim of or witness to violence, Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) steps in to help families in crisis.
After a referral from our law enforcement or DCFS partners, CAC coordinates a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) response to help the child and the family:
* process the trauma
* begin to heal
* build resilience
* live healthier lives
CAC offers expert child-focused, trauma-informed forensic interviewing, advocacy services and mental health counseling. We also provide community or corporate trainings on abuse and/or violence prevention. Please visit cachelps.org/community-outreach for a list of topics and more details.
All services for clients are free and available in English or Spanish. An interpreter is used for other language needs. Note: Fees may apply to requests for education or training presentations for businesses or other organizations.
The journey is not easy, but since 1989 CAC staff have been dedicated to our young clients and committed to helping them reclaim their childhoods through comprehensive support for the child and non-offending family members. We are empowering voices and inspiring hope.
