Car Crash Near Chick-Fil-A Sends One To Hospital: Mt Prospect Police

One of the drivers in the two-car crash was cited for improper lane usage following the Wednesday crash.

MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — A car crash near the driveway to a Chick-Fil-A restaurant on Elmhurst Road sent one person to the hospital Wednesday. Police tell Patch the accident, involving two vehicles, happened at around 11:37 a.m. on Rand Road, approximately 100 feet west of the intersection with Elmhurst Road.

Police said a passenger in the car at fault was taken to an area hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver at fault, who was charged with improper lane usage, was driving his Hyundai Tucson northwest bound on Rand Road in the painted median lane near the Chick-Fil-A driveway. The driver of an Acura RDX was northwest bound on Rand Road from Elmhurst Road.

Police said the driver of the Hyundai attempted to cross the two northwest bound lanes of Rand Road to enter the driveway, when it was struck by the Acura on the passenger side.
