Car Crash Near Metra Shuts Down Arlington Heights Road For Hours
The two-car accident occurred at around 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Several railroad signals were knocked down.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — An early Sunday morning car crash involving two vehicles shut down Arlington Heights Road at Northwest Highway for nearly five hours. All lanes of traffic in both directions, from Northwest Highway to Sigwalt Street, were closed and traffic was being diverted until around 12:30 p.m., according to Arlington Heights police.
A car traveling south on Arlington Heights Road sideswiped another vehicle at Northwest Highway, before striking and knocking down railroad signals southeast of the Metra stations, reports Daily Herald. One driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the other was also hospitalized for precautionary reasons.
