Carol Ulasy to Retire as Associated Agencies, Inc. CFO
John Turner Named as Successor and VP of Finance

– Ulasy will continue as CFO and transition her responsibilities to Turner before the end of 2018 –
ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. – May 2018 – Associated Agencies, Inc. has recently announced that Carol Ulasy will retire as chief financial officer before the end of the year. John Turner has been hired as the new vice president of finance and Ulasy’s successor.
Ulasy joined Associated Agencies, Inc. in 1980 as its bookkeeper and throughout the following decade was promoted to controller and then senior vice president of finance. She became chief financial officer in 1993.

“I am extremely grateful for the opportunities I have had in this role for nearly four decades, and I am very proud of how Associated has grown,” said Ulasy. “I was able to grow with this dynamic company, and I’ve had wonderful mentorship from its leaders, first Robert Schrayer and now Skip Schrayer.”
John Turner was hired as the company’s new vice president of finance in March, and is currently working with Ulasy to transition responsibilities. Turner will be responsible for handling all financial aspects of Associated Agencies, Inc., including reporting and day-to-day financial activities such as billing, receivables and payables.

Turner is a certified public account who worked as vice president of finance for CIT from 2015 to 2018. There, he executed $433 million and $150 million covered transitions between CIT Equipment Finance and CIT Bank and managed a $700 million rail car securitization among other accomplishments.
Before that, he worked as a senior accounting manager for Allstate from 2008 to 2015, where he implemented various internal controls, including developing and leading various technical accounting training secessions, developing and documenting new internal best practice processes and procedures and implementing various balancing and monitoring controls.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Bradley University in 1995. Turner currently lives in Lake Forest.
